New York City’s cultural diversity is at the heart of the new season of Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi, a four-time Emmy Award-winning travel dance series. In the new series, Mallozzi, a professional dancer, and trained musician, explores the recovery of New York’s culturally diverse communities and celebrates the city’s resiliency during the Covid recovery through the healing power of dance and music, all while drumming support for small businesses and establishments in local neighborhoods. This not the NYC of guidebooks but an insider’s view. The current series is airing on NYC Life and begins airing on PBS nationally in August. I caught up with her recently to ask about this NYC-centric series.
