The sport of cross country skiing is booming this winter when getting outdoors, exercising and social distancing has never seemed so desirable. What are the best resorts, the best places to learn the sport, the insider tips for beginners? I turned to one of the industry’s leaders, Jonathan Wiesel, a veteran of the industry and the co-founder of Nordic Group International. He’s a man steeped in the sport as a ski instructor, ski school director, backcountry guide, professional trips planner, international trips leader, ski area owner, and journalist, with a long view of what makes cross country skiing so special.
