Ray Caye, A Private Island Resort, Debuts in Belize

There are a handful of small private island resorts scattered off the coast of Belize, the ultimate getaways for beachgoers seeking peace and quiet in a stunning tropical setting. Seasoned beachgoers like to say that these islands are the way that much of the Caribbean used to be, before mass tourism came along.
Now there’s a new resort, Ray Caye Island Resort, that’s set to open in January 2020. Named after the spotted eagle rays that swim along its shores, the island is 18 miles off the coast off Placencia Village, an hour long boat ride away.
