Your Next Wellness Escape: Losinj, Croatia

By Ann Abel

I spent my first couple of days on the north Adriatic island of Losinj trying to figure out how to pronounce it. My Croatian hosts said things that sounded almost like familiar words. Lotion? Lozenge? I never did quite master it.

No matter. My mispronunciations worked for me. Lotion, lozenge, Losinj: All are meant to soothe and heal.

I travel around Croatia by car almost every year. Amazing country. The beach in Omis did not like. It is really suitable for children. I saw many cities on the seashore. But I prefer to breathe on the islands. In secluded lagoons where there are few people. In love with Croatia at first sight and forever. I recommend everyone to go. Dreamland. The Adriatic is gorgeous. Dubrovnik has fewer people, the air is cleaner and smells of pines and the sea, it is freer on the beach, the sea is much cleaner and more comfortable. People are friendly and welcoming in both Croatia and Montenegro. Good luck!
