The Wave Bespoke Edition from Bowlus Road Chief
By Everett Potter
Last year, I wrote a story for Forbes on the sleek Bowlus Road Chief, a sleek Art Moderne travel trailer that was redesigned with all the comforts that 21st century travelers were looking for, such as heated floors, charging stations for devices, flexible space options, and a lithium power management system for seven days-worth of off-the-grid capability. The company founded by aviation pioneer Hawley Bowlus in 1934 produced the first aluminum travel trailers two years before Wally Byam, a former employee, introduced the first Airstream. Bowlus had its ups and downs and was revived by Geneva Long, 20-something with a degree from The Wharton School, in 2014.
Bowlus has quickly become the new byword for luxury in travel trailers and in keeping with that spirit, the company has unveiled The Wave Bespoke Edition, a 26-foot trailer that the company says was inspired by racing yachts. It will help to have yacht-deep pockets to purchase one.
