Vagabond’s Epic Irish Food Adventure

Discovering Ireland through its food is a relatively new concept. In fact, it’s safe to say that no one went to the Emerald Isle on a mission to dine until the mid-1980s, with the advent of pioneering restaurants like Ballymaloe House in County Cork, where the late Myrtle Allen introduced diners to the splendors of the Irish larder and the bounty of the land and the sea.

Cut to 2019 and it’s a radically different story, with visitors eager to discover the magic of Irish food and Irish cooking for themselves. It’s why leading adventure travel companies like Vagabond Adventure Tours of Ireland, which was in the vanguard of offering small group tours to hike, surf and mountain bike along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, have added more of a gastronomic flavor to their outings.
