Vacasa: Where Tech Meets Vacation Rentals

Looking for a rental home or planning on renting out your beach house this summer? Tired of playing roulette with Airbnb? Take a look at Vacasa, which has been called  “a tech vacation rental company.” Vacasa is all about service and hires local housekeepers and property managers at their 8,000 plus homes in 20 U.S. states and 15 countries. They now have 2,000 employees worldwide and recently secured $103.5 million in Series B funding. After seeing Vacasa Founder and CEO Eric Breon speak at the Skift Global Forum in New York last fall, I had a chance to ask him about the company.

How did you start Vacasa?

I started Vacasa in 2009, after my wife Alia and I became caretakers of a 480-square-foot cabin on the Washington coast. Her family built the cabin in 1898, and passed it down through the generations.
