Greece: Danai Palace Resort

True confession: Greece is a blank on The Hotel Detective’s map of the world, but he filled in a bit of it with a recent stay at the Danai Palace Resort, a member of Leading Hotels of the World. It lies in a coastal curl of the Halkidiki Peninsula, an hour east of Thessaloniki by car. Thessaloniki is about a 30-minute flight from Athens, but you can fly non-stop to the city from Frankfurt on Air Agean, a Lufthansa partner.
