What’s the Deal: PopUp Ashram is “Butterfield & Robinson meets Burning Man with a spiritual bent,” says founder Michael Liss. I knew Liss back in the 90’s, when he was the visionary and creative force that helped make Butterfield & Robinson the premier biking and hiking company in the world. Now he’s popped up again with this concept, in partnership with the tony Design Hotels group. Hey, when the Dalai Lama “likes’ your Facebook page, you must be doing something right.
Details: The first PopUp Ashram is in Tulum, Mexico, from September 15 to November 5, 2012. This is a “Yoga & Transformation Experience” at Papaya Playa – a Design Hotels Project that consists of “85 raw-luxe cabanas cocooned by the jungle on a pristine stretch of the Caribbean coast.” Seven themed weeks are planned, such as “Krita Yoga, Movement & Mantra.”
Fine Print: 5 Day / 4 Night Retreats range from US$1,095 to US$1,695 for Single Occupancy and US$2,045 to US$2,645 for Double Occupancy.
